The easiest, quickest and safest way to peel ginger is to use the side of a spoon to scrape it!

The other common way is to use the back of the knife, but I find that using a spoon, which is also used by many executive chef, is actually much safer and easier to peel your ginger clean while keeping your whole ginger in the original size.
